A shared thread during the sequence is the friendly lesbian bonds between the characters. It focuses on a group of teenage girls tending three connected all-girl schools on Astraea Hill.
The two opening themes for the anime, "Shoujo Meiro de Tsukamaete" and "Kuchibiru Daydream" were sung by Aki Misato.
