From the New World is a Japanese light novel written by Yūsuke Kishi, originally published in 2008 by Kodansha. It was adapted into a manga in May 2012 by Bessatsu Shonen Magazine, and anime in September of the same year by A-1 Pictures.
The anime does not have an opening theme but theme songs that are played during the closing credits. "Wareta Ringo" by Risa Taneda and "Yuki ni Saku Hana (A Flower Blooming in Snow)" by Kana Hanazawa.

Shin Sekai Yori tells about the events of the future, in which people have learned to use telekinesis, and the appearance of humanoid intelligent beings. In the same year, the studio A-1 Pictures has released the anime adaptation of the manga series, directed by Masashi Isihama.
